Jess Kidd is a DJ, Producer, and vocalist from the South-East of England, climbing the ranks and working harder than ever to put her home city of Norwich firmly on the electronic music map!
Jess started her musical journey at the age of 12, a self-taught singer and guitar player, where she spent most of her teenage years mastering the art of song writing and performing.
This led to various gigs in local pubs and bars, performances at local festivals and open mic nights – and even the opportunity to support ‘House of the Rising Sun’ stars The Animals at the age of 15!
Being raised on a plethora of Folk, Rock n’ Roll, Electronica, House and County, Jess had a fantastic catalogue of music to inspire her growing up and further fuel her passion of song writing and production.
After teaching herself music production, and purchasing her first set of decks, the move back to the Southeast was inevitable – so that’s exactly what she did!
Jess has since become known for her percussive rhythms, peak-time rollers and tribal tech undertones during her live sets, and this has led to gigs further-a-field in places like Essex, Bury St. Edmunds, Bath, Oxford and London; where she has shared line ups with the likes of Jaded, Trutopia, Devstar, Carly Wilford, Space Jump Salut, Ellie Cox and loads more at venues such as Rolling Stock, The Cause, The iconic Egg, and the world-famous Ministry of Sound!
Not only is Jess popping up on various line-ups across the scene, but her productions have also been making some noise too…
Since signing her first ever track back in September 2019, the ball has kept rolling with releases on labels like Stealth Records, Glasgow Underground, Marylebone Records, Roller Blaster, Animal Language, Liminal Music, Data Transmission, Vivifier, and many more including various artists albums for Miami Music Week, Cloonee’s label (Hellbent) and ADE!
As well as breaking into the Beatport overall Afro-house, Deep House, House and Hype Charts with several tracks, Jess has also had some fantastic support from local BBC Introducing, Jaguar on BBC Radio 1, and the one and only Roger Sanchez!
Jess Kidd is definitely one to watch over the next year, so keep an eye for some exciting progress being made in and out of the studio with this one!
